Over the years a significant number of UniSFAns have been involved in the Australian Labor Party (this reflects the individual members politics not the club as a whole - there have been a smaller number of members who were members of Liberal Party). Members including DaveCake, NickEvans, AndrewBailey, ChrisJones, and EdmundBosworth have all been actively involved in the ALP at one time or another.
