Murphy's Adventure Gaming Instruction Code (MAGIC) was a language developed in the UCC in the early 1980s to facilitate the development of text-based adventure games.

Magic was originally conceived by PaulGreeve and later developed by others, principally BernardLangham. Magic was ported from Murphy to Marvin and finally to the Amiga OS. Attempts to commercialise games developed in Magic (notably A Taste of Magic and Into the Toad God's Lair) by the Toadsoft partnership floundered during an endless final-stage debugging cycle.
