Stephen was an active member of the club in his time at University, known for roleplaying campaigns which often centred around dubious puns.
He has become one of Australia's better known fantasy and science fiction authors, has had several novels published, and won quite a few awards over the years. He has also been involved with Swancons for many years, and bookshops including A Touch of Strange and Fantastic Planet bookshop.
